A group of women, including a woman in a blue dress, celebrate a special moment as she is crowned with a basket by another woman. The group is smiling and appears joyful, standing outside a building.
Two men standing outdoors on grass, one sitting on a red motorcycle wearing a helmet, the other making a peace sign, with trees and a white building in the background.
A person looking out of a vehicle window, holding a colorful sock puppet with blue fur, red glasses, and a wide open mouth, outdoors with trees and dirt road in the background.

Marti Ward Communities for Christ (MWCC) is a non-profit organization that spreads the love of Jesus to rural communities in Kenya and it’s surrounding areas.

MWCC was born in 1992- when Marti Ward made her first trip to Kenya at the age of 75. Marti passed in 1999, but the ministry carries on through her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & Jim Thompson, who direct MWCC in the United States. It is also carried out through through the diligent work of Protus Onchana, who is the MWCC Director in Kenya, as well as the board members who strive to keep the mission growing strong.

Make a Donation

Every act of generosity—big or small—helps us spread the love of Jesus in in East Africa!

Why donate to us? MWCC is a volunteer based non-profit, and we work hard to make sure that all donations go directly to ministry needs in East Africa.

  • Our board members are not financially compensated

  • Missionaries are self-funded

  • Overhead costs are donated by the board members

That means that 100% of your donation goes toward the work we are doing now in East Africa (with the exception of postage, as needed).

You can also mail your donation to: MWCC: Care of Pastor Jim Thompson, 505 E Meadcrest Dr. Knoxville, TN 37923
